By volunteering with us, you have the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of Rohingya refugees in Georgia. Whether you’re passionate about education, community outreach, or simply want to lend a helping hand, we have a place for you in our diverse and welcoming team.

Volunteer Opportunities:

  1. ESL Tutor
    • Description: Help adult and youth refugees learn English through structured lessons and conversation practice.
    • Commitment: 2-3 hours per week, flexible timing.
    • Requirements: Patience, communication skills, and a passion for teaching. No prior teaching experience required.
  2. After-School Program Assistant
    • Description: Support our after-school programs by assisting with homework, organizing activities, and mentoring students.
    • Commitment: 2-4 hours per week, typically in the afternoons.
    • Requirements: Enthusiasm for working with children and teens.
  3. Civic/Citizenship Class InstructorDescription: Teach basic U.S. history, government, and civics to help refugees prepare for the citizenship test.
    • Commitment: 2 hours per week, evenings or weekends.
    • Requirements: Understanding of U.S. civics or willingness to learn. Training provided.

Background Check: To ensure the safety and well-being of the individuals we serve, all volunteers working directly with children and vulnerable populations are required to undergo a background check. This process is simple and confidential. We will guide you through each step once your application is reviewed.

Important Notes:

  • The background check is mandatory for volunteers in roles such as ESL Tutor, After-School Program Assistant, and Civic/Citizenship Class Instructor.
  • The background check is conducted at no cost to you.
  • All personal information collected during the background check process is kept strictly confidential.
